How to process the mechanical keyboard shell?

The processing of mechanical keyboard housings involves multiple steps, especially when aluminum alloy materials are used, requiring precision and professional technology to ensure a high-quality product. The following is a typical processing process:

1. Design preparation
CAD design: First of all, CAD software (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) is used for detailed design, including the creation of three-dimensional models to ensure that every detail meets the design requirements.
Process planning: Make a detailed process plan according to the design drawings, determine the tools to be used, the processing sequence and the specific parameters of each step.

2. Material preparation
Material selection: Select suitable aluminum alloy materials, such as 6061 or 6063, which have good mechanical properties and processing properties.
Cutting blank: The selected aluminum sheet is cut into a suitable blank according to the required size, ready for subsequent processing.
3. CNC machining
Roughing: The rough parts are initially formed using a CNC machine to remove most of the excess material and form the basic outline.
Finishing: Further refinement to achieve the high-precision dimensions and surface finish required for the design. This may include operations such as drilling, tapping, milling, etc.
Edge treatment: The edge of the product is chamfered or rounded to avoid damage caused by sharp corners and improve aesthetics.
4. Surface treatment
Cleaning and deburring: Remove burrs and residues from the process to ensure a smooth and flawless surface.
Anodizing or other surface treatment: increases corrosion resistance and aesthetics. Common treatment methods include anodizing, sandblasting, wire drawing, etc., and color can also be added according to demand.

5. Check before assembly
Quality inspection: Conduct comprehensive quality inspection of semi-finished products, including size measurement, appearance inspection, etc., to ensure that all parts meet the specifications.
Functional testing: If it is a partially assembled component, it is also necessary to conduct preliminary functional testing to ensure that the parts work well together.
6. Final assembly
Assembly: The surface treated housing is combined with other internal components (such as PCB, key switch, etc.) to complete the final assembly.
Final inspection: carry out comprehensive functional testing and visual inspection to confirm that the product fully conforms to the expected standards.
7. Packaging and delivery
Packaging: Use appropriate packaging materials to protect the finished product and prevent damage during transportation.
Delivery: Arrange logistics distribution according to customer's requirements.
In the entire processing process, precise control and strict quality management are the key to ensure product quality. Through the above steps, it is possible to create a mechanical keyboard housing that is both beautiful and durable. Additional steps and techniques may also be involved if specially customized designs or special features are required.
