How is the aluminum tablet case made?
The manufacturing of a tablet's aluminum casing is a complex and delicate process that involves multiple steps and technologies. Here's a summary of the process:
1. Material selection
First of all, you need to choose the appropriate aluminum alloy material. For electronic devices such as tablets, commonly used aluminum alloys include the 6000 series (such as 6061 and 6063) because of their good mechanical properties, processing properties, and corrosion resistance.
2. Mold design
Make molds according to product design requirements. This step is critical because it directly determines the shape, size and appearance of the final product. Molds are usually made of high-strength steel to ensure their durability and accuracy.
3. Die casting or extrusion molding
Die casting: The molten aluminum alloy is injected into a precision mold, which is cooled and solidified rapidly under high pressure. This method is suitable for producing parts with complex structure.
Extrusion molding: by the heated aluminum alloy blank extrusion through the mold hole to form the required cross-section shape of the long strip material. This method is suitable for manufacturing elongated or continuous sections of product parts.
4. CNC machining
In order to achieve higher accuracy and more detailed design requirements, CNC (computer digital control) processing is usually carried out on the preliminary formed aluminum alloy parts. This includes drilling, cutting, grinding and other processes to ensure that every detail is in accordance with the design specification.
5. Surface treatment
In order to improve corrosion resistance, beauty and feel, the aluminum alloy shell also needs to be surface treated. Common surface treatment processes are:
Anodizing: increases surface hardness and wear resistance, and allows dyeing.
Sandblasting: To make the surface show a uniform and fine matte effect.
PVD (Physical vapor deposition) : Used to coat a metal film to enhance decorative and protective capabilities.
6. Quality inspection
Finally, all finished products need to undergo rigorous quality testing, including dimensional inspection, appearance evaluation and functional testing, to ensure that every aluminum alloy shell delivered meets high standards of quality requirements.
